Emotional train travel through XR immersion

Sorry, This Is My Seat is an XR installation exploring the emotional and social dimension of train travel. Using LiDAR scanning (in collaboration with PKP Intercity, Poland’s national rail operator) and an authentic passenger seat provided by PESA (one of Europe’s leading train manufacturers), I recreated a passenger carriage in Unreal Engine, merging physical presence with digital immersion. The viewer passively experiences the journey by listening to authentic passenger dialogues, which contrast the intimate everydayness of travel with a dreamlike atmosphere. In collaboration with the Eye Tracking Research Institute, I also developed an eye-tracking navigation system, proposing a more accessible alternative to standard VR interaction.
